Albertsons Stadium

Albertsons Stadium opened in 1970 with a capacity for 14,500 fans. It was later expanded in 1974 when the east side upper deck was added, increasing the capacity to a respectable 20,000 fans. But the demand for Broncos football kept rising, so the university later added portable end zone seating to add over 2,000 seats through the 1996 season.

The stadium was then later expanded to 30,000 seats right before the 1997 football season, which was part of a major construction that also added the Hall of Fame Gallery and the Larry and Marianne Williams Plaza.

These features proved popular enough that the Stueckle Sky Center opened alongside a capacity increase to 32,000 spectators in 2008. The facility added loge boxes, club seating, sky suites, and gameday media operations for the university. This is in addition to five banquet style or meeting room spaces located throughout the facility.

Today, Albertsons stadium has room for 36,387 spirited fans. But as you can guess, this incredible team plays to packed-till-bursting crowds.

As the stadium has had nine games to date that surpassed this capacity. Including the legendary game against Hawaii on October 12, 2019, when the Boise State Broncos defeated Hawaii 59-37 in front of 36,902 fans.
